Rare earth market update on July 22, 2025
Domestic rare earth prices remain partially stable, with some showing slight increases, including praseodymium-neodymium oxide price increasing by approximately 2,000 yuan per ton and praseodymium-neodymium metal price increasing by about 5,000 yuan per ton. In the light rare earth market, the overall situation reflects a pattern of prices without significant trading activity. Due to recent active bidding for China Northern Rare Earth’s praseodymium-neodymium metal and limited spot supply, many suppliers are confident in raising prices, though downstream demand still has considerable room for improvement. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, operations remain generally stable, with product prices primarily influenced by supply and demand dynamics. With downstream users mainly purchasing based on need and low inventory levels in the spot market, holders maintain rational pricing.
According to the Baotou Rare Earth Products Exchange, on July 22, 2025, the online transaction results for China Northern Rare Earth’s praseodymium-neodymium metal were as follows: praseodymium-neodymium metal transacted at 572,000 yuan per ton for 100 tons, with the transaction price unchanged from July 18, both at the alert price.
